Any Coriolis experts on the forum.

I am studying weather for my Yachtmaster exam and have accepted what role Coriolis plays for some time. However I have only just worked out how it actually works on wind or currents travelling N or S. I an still at a loss to think how it works in an E or W direction?????????

Works just the same - if the water going north - south gets turned to the left or right, then the water going east-west has to get out of the way somehow.

If the flow is turbulent you always have some component of the water going north-south even if the main flow is going east-west...
