Poll is silly I know but can anyone fill me in on 14 design trends and how they differ between these two?

I prefer the Proctor VII, built by Souters, with contrasting diagonal veneers....

the same, but different...

The way I heard it, (no first hand experience in 14's myself) If you want to
win the nationals get yourself a morrison and you'll be fine. But if you want to win the mighty world championship, you're going to want a bieker under your feet. |

We were always told the RMW12 was the faster boat, although substantially less stable and harder to sail the the bieker. The good hing about an M12 is you will pick one up cheaper then a B5, but be prepaired to swim! |

Having built both, it makes little difference which design you go for. You need a good rig on top, good foils and most of all time in the boat. Our new 'Pickled Egg' won POW Cup and week (Morrison design) yet a five year old B4 we also built finished second. All are now being shipped to the Worlds. Archie sailed a modified B5 in the last Worlds and Dave Alexander actually sailed a Jason Beebe design. |

I have just realized I have made a grave error with my scale! I should have designed my boat to be a 4 person Sportsboat not a 2 person skiff! ![]() Now what did they say on QI a while back? Convergent evolution was the term I think? ![]() ![]() Edited by Jack Sparrow |
