following on from the tangent on the RS100 thread... 3 mega important questions tax my small brain.....

1 - What is the north?

2 - Who has the best dinghy sailors?

3- If, as we suspect down here, the south IS the best AND has the best dinghy sailors, should we generously allow the "north" to claim that the "midlands" is also part of their patch and thus bumps up their numbers to stop it being such a rout ?!?

Where does Paul Goddison come from again, oh and Ellen, oh and Shirley.  Your right of course if you like being surrounded by irritating goyts who have only joined the club so the can brag to the Jones, run down by gin palaces, pay twice as much for everything and have to host the oppie parents then down south is where its at.  Oh and I think you'll find the North build the best boats!!

In all seriousness it happens imo somewhere between Grafham and
Rutland it's like some sort of Stargate portal back into yesteryear..

Best not to stay up there too long either..

You get severe charisma reduction almost in direct proportion to the lack
of UV penetration through the smog..

And rain?

It is always raining up there.

Whereas in Gods own Garden we rarely see rain

South is best FACT, although the north has some lovely places to sail and visit i still wouldn't want to live there...Hence the expression its GRIM ooop Norf!  Do you even have electric up there? 

PS anywhere above Worcester is North!

Can I just stop you there?   It takes me 1hr 15mins to get to Southampton from Reading.  I am definitely not a Midlander and will take great exception to that!

Tricky one on the best sailors. The midlands is NORTH.
Therefore, you could put into the northern catagory a LOT of top sailors.

Forgetting olympic sailors for a moment, the north has produced (off the
top of my head), Estaugh, Pinnel, Jim Hunt, Neil Marsden, and more
recently people like Matt Mee, Andy Davis, Tom Jeffcoate, Andy Couch.
I can actually think of a lot more but can't be bothered.

Not actually sure where carveth, gilbert and craig hail from......??

I think the southies are falling behind a bit.

Still, I know where I want to be sailing and that is most definitely south!
We can win the best venue competition with just one entry, Rock!
