Watch out the scum bags are about

   Just to warn the forum members in the Gloucestershire area.  I had a phone call today informing me that our sailing club (Tewkesbury SC) had been broken into.  Loads of dinghy bits have been taken as well as our nice new safety boat engine.  If anyone gets offered any bits from RS300, RS Fevas, Contender, Comet. Lasers.  Please let me know.  We are in the process of informing the Police.  I am gutted as i have had nearly £1000 worth of kit knicked!

	I once spotted someone on eBay selling all the bits that you could nick off a Laser and who could not sensibly answer my questions; very fishy. I reported it to eBay & the stolen boat register thinghy and they were not interested ...

	It beats me why people nick stuff off boats, apart from the odd shackle or whatever that they need for their own boats. Obviously they're all b****s regardless, but the ones who nick stuff to sell - surely there must be stuff that is much easier to sell on like car stereos or wheels or DVD recorders. If you nick a Laser kicker, it implies that you know what a Laser is and you know that this bit is quite pricey and then you've still got to find a Laser sailor who needs one to sell it to. You can't just wander into a pub and flog it the bloke at the bar. So that's got to be eBay, and that means you are traceable. So basically they're thick b***s too ! Edited by Mikey 14778

	in my experience sometimes they don't even bother to nick stuff to sell on e-bay, they just put up a picture of some high value item that doesn't actually exist, take your money and do a runner
