Hi

I'm trying to reproof my breathable polycotton dinghy cover..it's faded from
the UV..but is still in very good condition, straps/buckles are fine

Other than the rain just permeates it..and drips through..rather than the 200
odd quid for a new boom up cover (varnished decks so no PVC), any success
stories or techniques to divulge

thanks

Yes, get some Fabsil from a camping shop and spray or brush it on.  Works really well - we used it on a streaker cover early last year and it has stayed waterproof.
the same, but different...

Thompson's (from B&Q) or Travis Perkings Water Seal.  Used Thompson's works great and is a fraction the price of Fabsil.

Tent waterproofing stuff.  Really sorry can't remember the brand, but worked a treat on ours.

Graingers Fabsil. Do a Google search for the best online deal & buy a 5 litre can as I'm sure you'll want to do it again in about a year & you don't want to run out half way through the job! It's amazing how it soaks in. Works very well. Also..... here's a brill tip use a pressure washer to clean & blast any green algae & bird crap off first - do it on the boat so its supported - works superbly! Have fun.

Anybody used the Holmenkol reproofing stuff?

Will one can do a Merlin cover?

And most importantly, does it work/is it worth the money?

yes i used it on an I14 cover and it worked wonders, give the cover a good clean 1st then allow it to dry then put the stuff in a spray bottle and then go nuts.
