well theres a high chance I will be working in london over the summer and as such i will probably live with my girlfriend in brighton. Now im looking for a student friendly club (most are £55+ boat parking spaces) which for the 2months im going to use it seems rather steep!!! I also ideally need a club which allows road trailers to be stored under boats and theres nowhere to keep it otherwise. Other than that im not too fussy. Sea is preferable and it needs to allow an RS300 to race.

Suggestions welcome! (and yes i have used the clubs and classes)
cheers guys tom

Lancing is a great place to sail and an extremely friendly club.

Lancing sounds like the best bet from your feedback. I seem to remember some on here sail there. Can anyone give me the low down on it?

I did look at shoreham but they seem to want a lot of money because the 300 is wide and if i remember rightly they don't do student membership. . . (may be getting mixed up though)

If you go to the Lancing SC Facebook site
all will be revealed, including contact details.
Black no Sugar is head honcho and whipper in.
She is inordinately helpful.

Lancing is a good friendly club, I had lots of fun there and was made to feel very welcome, but you have to land on the beach so if you are the type who doesn't like the bottom of your boat touching the ground then Weirwood or Shoreham.

what do you mean 'land on the beach' i dont like that phrase. Don't people help each other out with trolleys and such like or do all the singlehanders haul their boats up the beach adding gellcoat to the sand/stone mix already found on the beach?
