I went back in 2005 for the last week of the season, and had a good time, but in hindsight should have gone earlier in the season.

The town itself had finished the holiday season a couple of weeks before Wildwind finished for the year, so not a lot to do ashore.

Sailing was good, although we only had a few days of typical conditions and to be honest I probably had the most fun of the week surfing downwind towards the beach in a Laser practising heavy weather gybes. Accomodation is ok but not amazing and the owners of the hotel are very accomodating. Some of the higher performance boats looked a bit tired with the exception of the 800 as they got little use and wernt replaced as often as the 16s.

I think if I went again I'd still only go for a week otherwise boredom and repetition might set in.

Went last year only one word.......fantastic ....light winds in the morning to try out new boats and in the afternoon the crossshore wind was F4 minimum every day. If you are learning it could be a bit initmidating but the instructors are first class and will do 'joy' rides for those who want to enjoy but not confident in high winds. The sail here when most would have closed the beach.

Vassiliki the town is really relaxed and about a 10 minute stroll from the base. Lots of cats to make the most of the conditions and for monohulls enough choice to keep you busy (Tried their 5k and enjoyed it so much went and bought one !). Whilst not as much kit as perhaps Minorca it is so much better than the mainstream companies, good value, the atmosphere relaxed and the sailing occasionally epic !

I'm a big fan in general of Vassiliki and have travelled to both Club Vass and Wildwind although not recently. My previous comments are here.

First time I went to Vass there seemed to be a lot of building going on and it seemed a bit scruffy. Went back a few years later, all the building work seemed finished, and we all thought the place was lovely! I went on flotilla, but conditions looked good in the bay, we saw a Dolphin on the way in, and generally had a good time. Been to the island loads of times, and we like the locals, the country, the climate and the food. It does get very hot at certain times, so you need to be careful, cover up, drink lots of water etc, but we couldn't find anything bad to say about the place at all. General experience on sailing holidays: look at the kit on offer, and think if it will suit your experience/expectations.

Absolutely top place.

We never go back to the same holiday destination twice and we're going back for our third consecutive year this August.

Top sailing (ideal for beginners in the morning & challenging for all levels in the afternoon), highly skilled staff and Vassiliki town is a nice place to go and eat and safe enough to leave older teenage kids in the Zeus bar, where the staff keep an eye on them.

The ethos of Wildwind is RELAXED.  It's certainly less regimented that Neilson, who we've been with before, and it took us most of our first week there to succumb to the Wildwind spirit.  You do need to be up front with them if you want to get something specific out  of your time there.  However there are some really top sailors there and they will push you way outside your comfort zone if that's what you're up for.

A final thought, much of Wildwind's income comes from repeat business.  You aren't going to regret going there

Thanks again.

We've been to Minorca sailing and 3 times and to the much lamented Fini with Neilson just before it closed. Wildwind is looking good, we'll be going in mid May if it comes off.
