wouldnt it be good if a club had a big club house right on the edge of the water.  sort of acting like a comity boat.

I am sure a lot of clubs do - look at ours at Lancing. It is varies from about 40m at high tide to a lot more at low tide.

Weston Sailing Club is even closer - you can sail to within feet of the clubhouse.

yer that would be cool cos when you have an open meeting the spectators can be in the thick of the action.  wouldnt it be better at an inland club?

my club - Yeadon sailing club- is about 2.5 meters from the water, with it been such an iccle lake u get to see almost everything from the club apart from when the island has loads of leaves on the trees, but thats only right at the bottom end where the lake shallows off ( saying that its deepest point is about 5ft well maybe 6ft at a push) the majority is only around 4ft deep,
