Would you go to a traveller event whatever the forecast or do you look first and then make your mind up?

What's the minimum (wind strength) that you would get out of bed for?

I'd go whatever the weather may be. A day on the water is a lot better than stuck inside do chores etc.

The only time I wouldn't go to the lake would be sub 5mph winds and freezing temps, but apart fro that if its windy I'm windsurfing and light I'm sailing

depends on the event for me if its a class event i'll go and if its light we normally end up in the pub anyway. If its a non class event i'll normally check the forecast first but thats only because i have to drive 100+ miles to most the big events

Its not often I get the pass to go, so not much will stop me once I'm packed and ready.

That said, I will have a second glance at the forecast and a thought if its a long tow to the event.

Things is come May to September or October there's always the chance of a sea breeze (unless its Grafham or something), so about the only forecast that really ought to stop you going is 40knots. Yo also have to consider that most forcasts are accurate as regards what weather is coming, its when its coming that is so variable, so I think you should always assume there's a chance that Satursday's weather will be Friday's forceast and Sunday's weather Monday's forecast...

Depends on the event.

Championships - holiday has been booked; accoms booked - you go!

Certain events I go anyway - ECPR and the Grafham Cat open.

If it was a long long drive and the forcast was terrible I might bail out; otherwise I'll go *(I don't get to many opens!!!!)

Wanna learn to Ski - PM me..

Go anyway, worse case is you have a weekend of seeing your mates, sunbathing, bimbling and drinking. If you're lucky you might even get a sail....

I'm missing the contender nationals even as we speak, not because of the forecast, but because I'm poorly.  I have to say though, the forecast was dire and so far they've had three days with no racing and tomorrow is the last day....

I feel vaguely better for knowing I'm not missing much....
the same, but different...

If the management (partner/parents etc.) has given permission, then go! As jamie says; sailing would be great but if the forecast looks bad then its a fun camping trip and an easy weekend
