Just found that the (rubber) neck and wrist seals on my drysuit are persihed. I know you can get replacements, but are these worth a go? How straight-forward and effective is it to replace them? Should/Could I switch to neoprene ones while I'm at it? Is there a limit to how many questions can be asked in one posting....?

No limit but i might forget some

Not sure if you can change to neoprene and not seen the replacement anywhere (but not looked!!)

I know it is tricky doing the replacements but not possible, just take your time and stick it to the rubber, dont remove it all when you cut the old one off.

I wouldnt do the feet, but the neck or wrist is worth a shot.

I tried it recently and made a right cock up of it!!! In the end i took it to wet and Windy and they chared me £25 for 2 cuff seals! Which i was happy with considering the balls up i made by trying to do it myself!

the key if you want to do it yourself is to ust keeep the suit nice and tight, the best thin to use is something like a road cone, not that you should steel one of course

then role over the cuff of the suit and same with the new seal apply you adhesive and role the new seal over the cuff.

I have manage to do it before but as daid in previous posts its not that expenive for someone else to do it for you, plus alot less hassle.

Or speak to the Squippers (emergency equipment fella's on our resident search and rescue Sqn) offer them beer and they do it for you over their lunch break
I might be sailing it, but it's still sh**e!

Yes, I'd just read some instructions along those lines using a conical former and folding it back. I have a wine bottle earmarked for the wrists (I believe it won't work if the bottle is still full....), just keeping my eye out for the neck. Maybe a plastic plant pot (also empty).

Did look at a few places to send it to, but that's going to be another 20 quid or so in postage - I haven't found anywhere local (Lincs). I think I'll give it a go myself first - got nothing to lose!
