Adrian,

I have actually sailed at Thornbury before so I will keep it in mind, although the tides do mean that you can't just go out for a spur of the moment blast, but thats no different from home really

cheers, Andy

Hang Over

Thornbury is indeed the club probably closest to you.  On the River Severn just by the original bridge.  It's handicap racing but the fast fleet usually would have a mix of cats and monos.  Currently cat fleet includes 2 x A class, 1 x F18, 2/3 Spitfires, lot's of D18's, 3/4 D15's,  Dragoon and a couple of D16's.

The Severn is a tad tidal but most of the the year there is racing on both Sat and Sun, with two races of approx 45mins each and a long distance series as well. If you want any more info feel free to call me on 07818 407338 and I'll be glad to show you around.

Adrian.

Should have gone to Swansea Uni, then you'd have been less than 5 minutes from the boat park.  Depending on the time of day Bath to Swansea takes approx........ too long.  Your best bet is an extremely tidal Thornbury.

Can anyone recomend any sailing clubs open to cats wihin about an hours drive of Bath? I go to uni there and am considering bringing my H16 to somewhere close so anywhere with a one design fleet or handicap racaing would be good

Thanks
