Can anyone point me in the direction of a complete Yardstick list.  I am in the process of updating our clubs sailing documents and want an up to date Yardstick list.

The only one that i have found so far is from the RYA website, but I can only find a list that shows classes that have changed this year.

Cheers

Many thanks for your help yellowhammer, not so much thanks to English Dave.

Yes I have heard of Google, and found the same link as posted above, but this does not include all classes, for example, the following are missing,

Laser Vago, Laser 13/16, Snipe, Topaz Magno.

Now there might be a good reason why they are left out of this list, I was just wondering if anyone had or knew of a more complete list.

I suppose that the RYA hasn't had enough returns from clubs to work out a reasonable figure for some classes - though I'd have thought they could just keep the figure they had previously until there was evidence of a change....

Thus they used to list the Snipe at 1117, and I've seen a figure of 1075 for the Magno, but that seems hopelessly optimistic to me (I'd have guessed at 1140, but a Vibe - surely quicker than a Magno - was rated 1185 in the recent Hoo Freezer).

The Vago has drifted down from around 980 to the following recommendations in the Laser brochure:

Standard rig: 1100 singlehanded, 1070 doublehanded

XD rig: 1045 singlehanded, 1015 doublehanded

even though most boats of Vago size are appreciably quicker sailed (well) singlehanded in up to a F.3, but beyond that you start to get overpowered of course.

Never did get a figure for the Laser 13/16 - did anyone ever bother to race them? .

The RYA claim that the numbers tend to drift over time, so that's why they don't list classes they don't have current data for. However whilst that may (I haven't looked) be true of the keelboat numbers, which are much less well founded statistically there are a handful of core dinghy numbers which are effectively unchanged since the 70s.

The dinghy class data might have more in it, e.g. the Mirror has three PYs here for singlehanded and doublehanded

http://www.rya.org.uk/NR/rdonlyres/81DB9CD1-FC07-4BF1-A396-1 E60D4630988/0/DinghyReport2006.pdf

The latest classes aren't covered, e.g. Vago

Its 2006 data, but looks like it's due for update at the end of April, maybe new classes will feed in then?

Cheers yellowhammer, just what I have been looking for.

Will keep an eye out for 2007 data.
