   Thought it may be good to share my latest experience with Barton Marine.
Recently I bought a pair of "winchers" - rubber things you fit on the top of your winches to make them into self tailers . they are as instructions suggest a bstrd to fit , but by nature of product a tight fit is essential. 
I foolishly tried to do this on the water and unfortunately one pinged of into the dark depths of the briney !!!!!!
On the off chance I phoned Barton relaying my tale of woe to see if I could buy an individual one to replace it - very kind gent - Paul said not to worry , he would sort something out . and he did , rec'd a new one free of charge today , excellent service and goodwill from a company that cares - afterall it was my fault.
This one I'll tether with a light ribbon whilst fitting and tie the dinghy along side just in case .
