They are not a great looking boat and the shute looks a bit clumsy too - but don't knock them - given space, a strong breeze and they are fast and nothing looks better than a fast boat.

Am I alone in thinking the Vortex looks like a pasty with a sail attached?
Not all chemicals are bad. Without chemicals such as hydrogen and
oxygen, for example, there would be no way to make water, a vital
ingredient in beer.

Similar but rather classier - at the German FD Nationals in Steinhude, we had a windless day drifting around waiting for a start when a workboat appeared at lunchtime towing a small steel barge onto which some thoughtful soul had loaded a barbecue and the Club chef, who proceeded to cook Bratwurst hotdogs for the entire fleet(52 boats), race comittee and spectators.

-Do not beach onto rocky beaches

They beached it.. picked up lots of rocks to put under the BBQ

The Pedalo's were very useful - one of the 300 fleet may not have made it back to shore were it not for the efforts of a rescue pedalo. (Admittedly he had a rather large hole in the boat.

all due respect thats truly in the spirit of garda but just how did they stop the BBQ goin clean thru the rotomoulded hull?

They were friends of one of the 600 fleet and yes he did actualy get a burger inbetween races.  I was somewhat jealous!!  Apparently the pedalos werent allowed over 200 metres away from the rental place.....that rule didnt seem to hold too well!
