More pre Farnboro (I’m now spelling in northern) hype

This is a rather niche product for people with ten foot high garage doors. Maybe it’s a southern thing but I’ve not seen any during my time down here. I also don’t understand how any sailor worth his salt can fit a car in their garage, far too much kit fit that nonsense

I've seen plenty of boats, canoes, boards, hung on garage ceilings. My own garage has just enough headroom that stuff lashed to the ceiling is out of reach, but  a boat would still be in the way of the up'n'over door. You'd want some extra straps under the boat before arking the Limo under it and great confidence in your rawlplugs.

No problem with boats hung from the garage beams, my amusement is that anyone can drive their can in a garage with a boat on the roof.

I think my garage would be OK with a lowish estate car like a 3 series BMW and a Laser. Some apartments etc have garaging for taller vehicles, there is a world beyond English Wimpey houses and bog-standard garages. Of course real sailors would keep another boat under the hoisted one.Last timne I put my car in a garage, I had to move a load of junk from garage to car first.....

the electrics lasted many years but sadly haven’t played unicycle hockey or done any off road unicycling for a while, my ankles are a bit dodgy from longboard and drinking accidents Cry

When my garage door needed replacing I splashed out on hinged doors mainly because of the roof storage problem. But they've turned out to be more convenient in other ways too, so I'm very pleased I did it.

Double doors are useful, you can throw a sheet over the top and extend your work space, no mechanicals to go wrong either.

Many years ago a friend of mine was planning a new garage, he had a building suppliers and dealt with a local garage door company so asked "Do you have any slightly damaged up & over doors that you can sell me cheap? If so let me know the size and I'll build the garage to fit." they replied "go ahead and build the garage then let us know what size you need and we'll damage one to order for you"  LOL
