I don't like actually slating products online, not for real at least, I might now and again turn the sword of irony in a particular direction, but today the first time I actually used my new Zhik harness in anger I am left with profuse disappointment. Not just me, by co-incidence a club mate also replaced his T2 with the T3 and also used it for the first time today and as we were putting our boats away, asked me how I got on with it. Now, I'm not a trapezing expert so ordinarily wouldn't have thought much about the extreme discomfort the extra wide spreader bar enclosure gave me, digging into the top of both my thighs, or the fact I was continually having to re hoist my bra strap as it kept slipping down.

Until my club mate who is a seasoned trapeze sailor, reported exactly the same with his and how disappointed he also is, so it makes me wonder, most of the sports I'm involved in, wouldn't dream of putting a product as bad as this into the market.

All harnesses, kite, windsurf, all get produced by companies with product guys that actually do the sport and I can safely say this, until now, I doubt a single trapeze sailor in that Zhik company has ever even worn it never mind used it. Terrible, I thought Zhik was an actual rider/sailor run brand, clearly not.

Absolute POS to use the vernacula, Steer clear. Zhik T3

Less (for me) is more in trapeze harnesses. Simple nappy style such as Shock make, they now in addition to fixed sizes do one with lacing adjustment to take account of the different eeeeerrr seasons clothing thicknesses.

Back supports, wide spreader bars.............., I don't get it. Seems like sales speak over what we actually need. Light, slim, no buckles to snag on stuff you can't see and close fitting.

You cant beat a made to measure nappy harness from Batt, Banks or Shock.

I'm sure in the past, women loved towel nappys, but it is 2019, the world has moved on, there are and have been myriad developments in harness technology, there have been inflatable systems, there have been boa system (a wire ratchet tightening system used on snowboard bindings), there have been thermo formed and even just recently hard and soft shell technologys, yet the dinghy backwater as ostrich like as ever charging exhorbitant rates for fifties technology, or over charging for late twentieth century rubbish that doesn't even offer comfort in its lack of functionality.

I do despair.

Have to agree with craiggo ... I think that this is something you can over complicate, what you are looking to do is provide a stable hook position as close to your body as you can, plus some shoulder straps to provide some back support.  The nappy type does this, as does the old Alpha Mackenzie type, which I think Banks provide a version.

Agreed, the more straps normally means it pulls somewhere it shouldn't spreader bars have also never worked for me. 
I have tried many, but the made to measure nappy is still the best! Got mine from P&B and its lasted 10+ years and although got tighter is still the comfiest I have worn

I have a banks nappy one that's lasted 15 years now. It does stretch a bit as it gets wet, so needs snugging up after the sail out, but otherwise is fine. 

My crews got a Shock one which doesn't stretch out when wet, so I'd probably replace with one of those if I had too. 

I do think the spreader bar and thigh strap ones look more comfy when stood upright or walking about. Less nut splitting. But there's a lot of straps going on, and when your hunched over the bar sticks in to you hips... and, the posing pouch 'look' is a acquired taste.

I still have my old P&B made to measure nappy harness. Still fits nicely and feels secure. I had too many straps come undone from adjustable ones for comfort.
