There are so many negative tales of the b**tards not paying out in regular life, car, home, business insurance, how are we doing in boat world, I've got a new boat to insure but instead of going the usual noble route (then never claiming for anything anyway) I notice a few more suppliers on offer, there was that lot that sponsored the Great lakes series G something W (they need an image makeover and decent logo) something came up on Apolloduck, Craft insure? then of course there's Nobles, maybe I'll get a price comparison this time, what are your own experiences? What's the most frequent thing you've claimed?

Always Noble for us.

Quick fair and personal service. We had claims for RS:X wrecked by freak storm whilst in equipment rack in Torbole, day sailer written off dragging its mooring along the harbour wall in another storm, and multiple laser masts.

UK Global for me, albeit thru the class association, but I had changed to them before I knew about the tie-in, after some - ahem - disappointing experiences with one of the others. I've found UK Global to be excellent; fast, polite, fair and price competitive.

Very happy with GJW.  They cover vandalising by rodents and turn stuff around pretty fast too.

I couldn't recommend Craftinsure after poor experiences.

If it's for that nice new boat, that'll be expensive to repair and definitely a bit unique if you need custom parts replaced, use the best insurer there is ... and that's Noble.

I use Noble for the higher value boats I own and Newton Crum for the other ones. Never had a problem with either when claiming.

I used to be with Noble, who gave great service, very fast mast replacement and minimum fuss, the one time I claimed. I moved to GJW a couple of years ago - it's a great deal cheaper for my 3 boat "fleet". I was also influenced by a lot of good remarks about them here, but fortunately I've never had to claim from them, yet.

Ah.. now I've clocked it GJW are up to 50% cheaper, shame they don't offer the Farr 3.7 on their list.

I wonder what everyone else did.

Think I might move the other boats to them though, could be quite a saving.

I have been using Craftinsure for quite a few years. Had a couple of mast claims , never had any issues with the way they delt with the claims
