RS200 Thwart

   Does anyone have experiance of removing the thwart from an RS200? 

I have an older 200 and there is a crack in the thwart about mid span. I could repair in situ but getting a neat repair on the underside will be a bit of a pain. I can see that there are screws attaching it, so thorecically it should be simple to remove, however if it has been bonded in as well as the screws it might not be worth the effort.

Any thaughts?

	Speak to Mike Saul from MSDS, who is the Northern RS Dealer. Mike is good at providing pragmatic advice and will also quote for the job should you not fancy doing it yourself. JP Watersports are the Scottish Dealer and may also be worth a shout.

	What do I think - I think you've changed Phil! I would slap some bog or some mat on the underside and forget it was there! Did you learn nothing with those Laser 2s and in your Cherubs?

	Matt, The plan is to slap a patch on the underside, however it is difficult to see what I am doing can be difficult to get the patch to stick in place while it cures. If removing the thwart is just a couple of screws then it would be eisier to do on the bench. However if I need to battle against a thick layer of sealent to get it out then it would be eisier in situ. Fixing all those boats I have learned to try to make life easy for myself

	I have a feeling its partially glued, how well its still stuck might be another matter. The job is going to be so much easier with the thwart out that isn't it going to be worth investigating whether its reasonably straightforward to remove it? Probably worth half an hour removing the thwart even if you have to replace the filler...
