A thread to post pics of significant projects...

as a starter here's an IC rebuild I did a few years ago.

(It was suggested I post pics of my current Moth rebuild, but to be quite honest the workmanship is pretty ropey in places because I've been trying stuff that's way out of my comfort zone and learning how to do things. I'm not really ashamed of that, but it doesn't make for a thread starter.).

Should be a good place for seeing some of those super Farr 3.7 builds, 12 restorations, Cherub projects and the like...

I remember following your blog ref the canoe rebuild Jim.  It was great! I love reading about restoration/modification home builds.  Be it cars, bikes or boats.

Much better threads than py numbers, reaching videos, perception of upwing planing etc.

Thanks for starting this.

There is currently an excellent and well illustrated account of the building from scratch of a Merlin Rocket in the USA to a Keith Callaghan Hazardous design by a guy called Julio Arano. Simply go onto www.merlinrocket.co.UK and search on the Forum for the thread.

A lot of clamps and a bald and bearded man. Rupert and Nessa will know who and what. Jim may also know.

I have so many questions about that I do know where to begin. For starters, what's the tube running along the length?

I think it's paddle stowage.

Both those are Mr Jacks boats Strang but you are right the one on the left.
It was after the hammering the poor old girl got at Netley that the glue seams started t pack up and the whole of the bottom had to come off and be reglued. The condition inside was surprisingly good after 50years. We had to be a bit careful as we suspected the red paint was lead based.
Yes the tube is paddle stowage for an aluminium rivetted paddle. It is matched on the other side by stowage for the four foot spinaker pole.
i will try and get a picture of them for you tonight.
