I have an adjustable forestay on my singlehander and want to add adjustable shrouds so that I have full control of rake and tension when on the water. Does anyone have any advice on how best to set this up? Is there anything I should avoid? Pictures of your own set up most welcome too!

Look at any class that boasts a raking rig such as Merlins, Scorpions, etc

Buy this book. That should give you a basic understanding of how to go about building a system for your boat.

Do this very cautiously as the hull of your singlehanded may not be strong enough to take the loads generated by such systems and will not have strong points to which cascades can be attached to allow the necessary adjustments.

Take a look at a fairly modern deck stepped Merlin to see what can be done. Currently, they have one block that adjusts forestay, stays, lowers and kicker in one easy movement as you adjust the mast rake. Photos of such systems can be found on www.merlinrocket.co.UK.
