Good Afternoon Everyone

Many thanks for pre-entering into the POSH regatta, unfortunately we are going to have to postpone the regatta until 24th and 25th May, this is due to the weather conditions we are forecasted over the weekend. We have been keeping an eye on Wind Guru and the weekend is certainly looking colourful, even for us hard-core sailors!

If you have already entered then don’t worry your entry forms have been printed off and are waiting for you on the 24th May. If you cannot make it could you please send an email to sailing@paigntonsailingclub.com and let us know. The format of the regatta will still stay the same, 3 races on Saturday followed by a meal and then 3 races on Sunday.

Let’s hope the weather is better in a couple of weeks’ time and please accept our apologies.

The Team at Paignton.

Come to the Sailracer event at Carsington instead!  We're still going ahead, apparently.  Smile

Blowy, yes; English Channel blowy, no.

Yes good representation of Single Handers for Round 1 of the Garmim Summer Series

Local lad Michael Sims (winner of GJW Direct SailJuice Winter Series) head to head with Solo rival and Fireball World Champion Tom Gillard but saiing a Streaker this Sunday,  both on handicap of 1146,  so could be a interesting tussle.

Didn't know that North sold Streaker sails, but bet they do now. ;)

Well, Tom had a nice new North Streaker sail on Sunday which delivered him two 2nd places and 2nd over all,

.... but he couldn't quite beat a fireball and lost one race to a rather old but very well sailed laser radial.  Bit too windy for the Solos to be really competitive.

Good event - and a big local turnout; more visitors would have made it better still

Real shame about the number of visitors.  I think I only counted about 8 on the entry list.

Tom did very well considering he sailed the event with only one toe strap.

Gordon

I'm not planning to attend the nationals this year as I don't think the venue is worth the likely 7 hour drive.
Hopefully I'll have a couple of other Phantoms to play with, as POSH  has been such a great even the last couple of years.
