Can anyone explain or link to a guide on how to splice control line rings neatly into something like English Braids Sprintline?  I want to run of rope across the cockpit of my phantom with rings spliced into it so that I can route some continuous lines through them.  The current setup has too much friction and the ropes are aren't organised particularly well.

Cheers,
Kev

Sprintline isn't the best rope to do this with, the polyester core is tricky to splice with.

You'd be better off using Dinghy Dyneema line - http://www.dinghy-rope.co.uk/dinghy-dyneema-4mm-rope.html

Best way to do it if you did want to use the Sprintline would be like this - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ym1-rI0SdaA

Forget splicing. If what you are trying to do is simply produce a route through which continuous control lines can be lead and assuming that there is little/no tension on the control line then what you need to do is sew/whip the rings onto line that you set up across the boat so that the rings stand up at right angles to line across the boat and then run your continuous line through the rings.
