I think the fact that there hardly any posts and the last one (January 4th) says that a new page been set up under "Byte Class UK" probably says a lot.

I dunno. Culture varies between fleets... The ICs, for instance really don't have an awful lot of posts on their class forum, and its damn near impossible to get anything out of them for web content (I've had about three goes at getting content for web articles and the like), or even responses as to whether or not anyone is coming to the next open meeting...
However when you get there I find there's another 3 or four new exquisitely crafted pieces of carbon fibre and mirror finish custom paint boat porn that you haven't seen before, apparently all tuned and setup and being sailed far more competently than I can manage. Some fleets do appear to be all action and no talk...

I agree, but my point was more that the original post was about supporting a page that even the byte class themselves had dropped. If you want people to engage in social media then there has to be something to engage with.

The previous Facebook page was not set up properly and no one knew it existed. This is new and accessible. If one is dealing with a smod like Byte then there is not very much to say about it. However a certain amount of information can be introduced which may be of use and the facebook generation can look at the pretty pictures.

well at least Facebook still appeals to middle aged women*... and let's be honest, posting photos of cupcakes and cats could really do with being replaced with Byte CII rig obsessive and compulsive behaviour.

(*and Devoti-One sailors- not that the two groups are mutually exclusive anymore)
