Bit of an odd question.

Does anyone know how i can get the profile of a seldon carbon boom into a digital file? I want to create an adaptor that i can bond to the curvature of the boom that will provide a flat surface that i can bond a gopro sticky mount to.

I should be able to do everything with a copy of autocad and a 3d printing company, I'm just stick with how to get the curve of the boom right.

Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.
Kev

I've made a couple of go pro mounts for my boat, using the boat/boom as the mould. The flat surface required for the sticky-mount is built up using thickened epoxy that is filed flat.

I would think that using fibreglass would be a much quicker and cheaper way to make a mount, but then it is always good to see new methods being used.

Happy to summarise the process for making a mount in carbon/FG if that would be helpful.

All the selden sections are available in their catalogue on their website - Insert as a texture map into autocad and scale accordingly, then trace round to form the section.
