We hear lots of calls for the RYA to do this and that, or in some cases calls for them to stay well clear, but how many posting here are actually paid up members?

Up to you whether or not you name yourselves.  And by the way, they are now making it compulsory for instructors to hold RYA membership.  Any thoughts?
the same, but different...

what do you mean as fully paid up member , as a member of an affiliated yacht/sailing club part of your membership fee goes to the rya , therefore in my opinion gives everyone  in such clubs a right to whinge , especially on how the rya are killing off club sailing !!!

im both affiliated and personal gold  member (however I had no choice in that )

Fully paid up gold member here.

If nothing else, the discount on Holidays (eg 10% off Neilson, 15% off Sunsail) covers the cost when paying for a family of four.

The boy is a member, because he has to be. I cannot see much advantage to him though.
