Machining on a logo so that old design foils looked as if they were new design ones would probably cop you a rule 69 hearing and at least disqualification from the entire event.

And that would of course only be the case if you actually managed to get yourself in to the Gold fleet.

You can still use the old foils.

I'm pretty sure that Les realised this when he said "joke" after his quip. Not really sure that this will effect many forum members... to get in the gold fleet you're probably sailing rather than sat in front of a pc!

Truth is that any smod becomes "developable" once the top bods have worked out where the holes are in the design's performance curve - even a boat as well conceived as the 49er.

Mind you - £800 isn't bad for both foils.  You wouldn't get a top designed (German) high-aspect centre blade for our 505 for that..!

Oh well, it's only money - after all.....

Jesh guys I was only joking about machining the logo!!!!!!!

(but if I really wanted to do it I would put money on it that you wouldn't be able to tell by the machining .) Joys of owning an engineering company

As for gold fleet at the moment I'd struggle to get into the bronze fleet!
