Has that Enterprise in 5th got the correct sail number for the boat?? That makes it not far off 40 years old! I had 18047 and that was c.1976. That's not bag going if true.
Scorpions doing well on a reduced handicap for the second year running, however it is the top of the fleet sailors. Andy McKee winning the national series (also 3rd at the Flying Fifteens Worlds in Hayling 2 years ago). Pete Grey second at Nationals this year. (well done lads!!)

Before this internet protest hearing goes any further I want to hear from the boat to leeward and the team on the committee boat.

Sorry JIM, you're too late. The process on the internet is too rapid, it's already winged it's way to the Court for Arbitration in Sport.... (AKA Twitter)

That'll be Alan Johnson sailing the boat I think he won the Ent Nats in as far back as 1979.

The only action you could have taken to avoid the a crash was to bail out early on that start.  You should have headed up to windward of the committee boat, tacked around and re joined the start at the back of the grid.

As it happened, 400 would have been  barely moving, just holding station and ready to sheet in and go.   Neither he nor the committee boat had a chance of avoiding you.

I was thinking that as well. All the talk of rule whatever, section such like...................

If there's no space there's no space, simple as that.

Fine if you want to chance a gap opening up but if you decide on a high risk approach you have to have an escape plan.

Well, it looks like the two involved parties have left it there.

Alto admitted to being in the wrong and did turns, but felt that 400 made no attempt to avoid collision when it was clear that Alto had got to the point that he couldn't.

400 says that he had nowhere to go, so couldn't do more to avoid.

They are the only people that know, and will have different perceptions of the same incident so are inlikely to reach an agreement - not that they need to - no protest, no insurance claim, etc.

Little value in trying to keep this alive, apart from trolling/entertainment?

I do believe (in the interests of trolling) there should be a declaration of interest there Mr T?

We have called the first witness (Boatshed) - who clearly has some commercial agenda within the yachting industry, so therefore cannot, ever be trusted (even though the photos were pretty).  And the expert witness (Do Different).

The only conclusion reached so far is this is a bit of lame sh*t fight, given the brevity of transgressions in former years....

Yours sincerely,

Disappointed from Draycote
