Not especially but then it wasn't that rough and I always
had something pulled on to keep it in the boat (kicker, main sheet, spinnni halyard etc)

I'm not suggesting that this is right, one sail by one
person is hardly conclusive... rather just don't write
anything off just yet.

Them old bones are still capable of an ass kicking.

Same as that boat delivered to me last night, frikking thing upside down
spinnaker all over the ocean. (Tip of the day, don't try and right it with the
spinni up)

GRF, if you capsize with the kite up the best way to sort it is just to knock the halyard off and then get the boat up, dont worry about pulling it down before you get back on your feet.  Then just give a few tugs on the downhaul once you are comfortable then bear away and pull it back up again.  Trying to pull the kite down when it is underwater is very hard work so it is best not to do it with the boat on its side, it can also damage the kite because of the load.  I admit that knocking the halyard off could leave it in the water anyway but it shouldnt do if your halyard is the right length because to go that low to the water the downhaul would be pulling the kite back in to the boat.

Also yes the numbers did start at 100 just like all the other rs boats with numbers for names.  700s starting at 700 and 800s starting at 800 etc

Charlie - is this the same setting as supplied ?

The one bit I am very unsure of is should I sheet hard enough to pull the
traveller away from the stop on the bridle or keeping this as the max
sheeting angle, which is what i have been trying to do? Obviously then this
dictates what angle you sail upwind.

If it's lumpy I'd bag it first ... otherwise it can get in a hell of a tangle as the kite gets worked around stuff as the boat bobs on the waves ...

Our RS 100's have now arrived in Minorca.  They were both rigged yesterday and 1 was taken for a sail.  Not much wind (bottom end of a F2) but with the large rig you could happily sit out on the side!

Today F5 we are rigging up for another sail!

Now Chris..... I can't go giving away all of the secrets on
how to make an RS100 go quickly - I've got to keep some
things to myself, so helping me do well at the 2010
Nationals at Parkstone.
The mainsheet bridle does have a 'sweet spot' though, that
does make the boat do exactly what it says on the tin. For
those interested then I take beer/bottle of wine tokens as payment, redeemable at the Nationals!!

Come on Charlie, in the spirit of getting us all going, RS should at least give
us the sweet spot on the traveller!

It would be a shame for the TT, GRF and all the other chairpeople of the
class assoc to rule that RS staff start the Nationals with another 20 points off
the handicap so spill the beans..... basic settings small and big sail to
make them go please?

I've put a hex on no 118.

That was mine.

Forever after anyone who sails it will immediately start to shrink, their
hair will fall out and they will develop a bad attitude.

Whilst acquiring a certain sense of style, a ready wit and attractiveness to
the female gender.

You might wish to adjust your hire fees accordingly.
