I have thrown it all away, I really should read the sailing instructions.... I wouldn't have sneaked down the African coast if I knew I had to go to Brazil to get the scoring gate!

i thought i had planned to sail around the doldrums,
then they shifted i was doing 0.2 knots earlier
today. it was rubbish. ive lost 3000 places in 24 hours

Seems to me (JuJu3) that the wind patterns the game uses stay the same for 12 hours at a time - not actually that realistic when in changeable areas like the doldrums. I am sailing towards a 'swirl' with my kite up and I will circle into the swirl but when the next 12 hour pattern comes in, I will be on a reach a bit free to the mark off Brazil. It's possible I will sail through what should be a header with my kite up!

I started a week ago at about 22K. Seems like a lot of yachts crashed into the Cape Verdes!

I've done as mouch wrong as possible in the doldrums; where ever I go I get sucked back into no wind.  I've ben here for days and lost 1000's of places!!!!

The "you've lost/gained x places" message seems to be essentially random and quite often lies...
