I like the look of it, hullwise, but it looks like the committee has been working on the rig - 'make it bigger - bigger is better, no, bigger than that, people like great big sails', etc, etc. The hull looks easily driven, why the XXXX does it need such huge rags?

Google translate ...

The boat is very fast. An RS100, Devoti One Laser and EPS are slower. The test we did. Even the RS300, has a really good upwind dinghy (because shorter) and downwind (no gennaker) no chance. On the video you see our prototypes on his first ride. The series will ship once again be 10 Kg lighter, that it will be even faster. Quick is the dinghy when it is pulled in luv, not as shown in the video (first ride). It's great fun and the gennaker provides enough lift.

Lift???

No it doesn't.  The hull is far closer looking to an RS300.

I think the guy has done a great job on it and it will be great for up and down courses.    Forget round the cans.

And of course, being an asymmetric that looks like it will work properly, there is none of the kneeling issues that he Shaw 4 and RS300 suffers from.

Those wings look pretty high, certainly high enough to allow a bit of heel downwind which it will need to balance up the helm.

Commercial success ?  I doubt it.

I know it's notoriously hard to judge wind strength from a you tube video, but that looks what.. F2, maybe 3 in the puffs.  The guy's all over the place at about 1 minute, one puff and he'll be dragging those flares through the water.

I guess it might have a function on a Swiss lake, the design is very 2000's, not 2010+  Personally I think a D1 will nuke it... especially upwind, which ironically, though logically enough, is where you spend most of your time sailing in hiking asymmetric dinghies like this.

IMO - looks boring and been done already...the video shot (with standard kite shots on tight angles) doesn't help as there is no wind. As someone has already said being an unstayed rig and a square top main I bet it'll fall over ALOT!!

its a cross between a RS300 and a D1. I think that one problem will be that with the hull shape it will need to be sailed very flat like a RS300, because as soon as those wide sides hit the water its going to slow down a lot. Thats where the D1 will have an advantage with the high wings. That said its a nice looking piece of kit and I hope that it does well for the builders.
Everything I say is my opinion, honest
