Well we were full. But that's the way things go.

If you can get a few people together at Draycote I'll be happy to bring the boat up to you guys.

Butler Boats are very keen to build and were talking around the £2000 grand mark for a hull. I have a message from him on my phone at the moment but have really busy so haven't got to that yet. Not enough time to type this really! But there may be some movement there if you are interested in a new UK Boat.

Shame about the no shows. When I heard you were fully booked, I wrote this off and now I've got something else on. Hope it goes well. Cry
Good news: we will be getting one at Draycote! One of the stars of the 'hooligan fleet' ('300') is building one. For me, it would have to be from a builder and then there are all the excuses I gave about being too old. However, sometimes you look at a boat and think,"this is it!". Big smile

Okey Dokey... I have had a few drop out's on the Farr 3.7 TEST SAIL DAY - 5 people to be precise, so if people want to try the boat this weekend ( Sat 24th ) at Burghfield Sailing Club, let me know on this thread or PM me.

I can't guarantee the wind this weekend but I will be there pretty much all day, but if you get the urge and haven't let me know I can't guarantee I'll be there late afternoon if you decide late to just rock up on the off chance.

The next test sail day is being arranged over in essex on the Black Water. I'll let you all know when and where.

Mostly for Jack Sparrow. Unfortunately, I won't be coming to A.P. at the weekend. Came last year and the year before, didn't think there would be anything new. I hope it goes well for you and everyone supporting the 3.7. At the moment, the 3.7 has come to late for me. I would be STARTING at 68, and given that it normally takes me about 12 -18 months to get going in a new boat, I would then be nearly 70 (YES, 70)!!)
I needed the 3.7 after giving up on the Vortex and then, eventually, deciding on a Contender.

Some thoughts on kites. I joined the clamour for a kite to be added to the Vortex. The Vortex downwind without a kite was either very boring or very scary. Perhaps I didn't persevere with the kite, but I had some scary moments when people popped out from behind the kite. I began to think I would hit someone one day and hurt them and/or their boat.

However, this an exciting development and I will keep an eye on things. Good Luck!

No trapeze experience, it's the boat for you then. It's got lovely toe straps too!

You just sail it along as a normal hiker and when over powered hook on and step out. It's no soap dish so it will still be there when you want to sit down again!

Witness me doing just that here:

Think if you simply got lets say 10 more builds maybe less. You could hold a innagural national event by 2013.That would probally get even more people interested specially with these new kits.

Anyway i think it looks a brilliant boat and really fun.
Would love to try one out but i have no trapeze experiance.
Goodluck with your projects, see you all at boat show.
