I wish. Most non-sailing partners will claim the correct number is N-1

Yes a very real concept my euphoric TFI Friday feeling is ignoring with the prospect of a warm spring weekend ahead..

Even some partners who sail prefer the N-1 measurement - or maybe N-X, where X is one less than N.

Am I right in assuming that N = number of boat you've currently got?

If that's correct, you should only be wanting one of them now... and then you can want the other as well as soon as you've picked your first Smile

Isn't N is the number of people (by default one)?

However I guess conjoined twins could sail the Aero, but a Feva would be better.

Of course, N is the number of boats - it is well know that the more boats you own, the more you are gazed upon with adoration by the rest of the human race.

It's part of the rules...

If you haven't read them here they are, or the first group, they're not quite finished yet...

Sailing rules.

Rule #1 Obey the rules,
Not those rules, these rules.
Rule #2 Set an example,
it is forbidden for someone once familiar with these rules to knowingly assist another person to breach them
Rule #3 Guide the uninitiated
No matter how good you think your reason is to knowingly breach The Rules, it is never good enough.
Rule #4 It's all about the Boat
It is, absolutely, without question, unequivocally, about the boat. Anyone who says otherwise is obviously a twatwaffle
Rule #5 Boat Ownership
The correct number of boats you may own at any one time is N + 1 where N is the number you currently own.
Rule #6 Control lines, tillers, extensions, cleats and footstraps shall be carefully matched

     Valid Options are:

Match lines to the spinnaker chute.
               Spinnakers to the towing vehicle
All sails shall be identical scrim, batten colours should match or clash appropriately
Match the name graphic decal to the sail plan.
*Lame Logo's are forbidden (see forbidden lame list)

Rule #7 Free your mind and your boat will follow
Your mind is your worse enemy, do all your thinking before you start sailing, once the gun goes wrap yourself in the sensation of the sail the salt spray, the smell of the air, the sound of the wash

Rule#8 Harden the f**k up
Rule#9 If you sail in bad weather, it means you are a badass. Period.
Rule#10 If you sail in bad weather on the coast.
It means not only are you a bad ass, your badassedness is legend.
Rule#11 If you sail in bad weather on the coast in waves
Deification is in order Neptune himself may even have to move over.
Rule#12 It never gets easier, you just go faster
If it hurts you're not fit enough, If it doesn't hurt you're not doing it hard enough,
