That's correct regarding clubs Enterprise, new member crashed into it, people in charge on the day felt kindest procedure was to laugh it off, I had no part in decision.
Enterprise now damaged again, shroud ripped out this time, probably scrap, again I wasn't part of decision making.

To be honest, I can't remember a protest in club racing, at a range of sizes clubs. Most people just don't care enough... But the principle is that there is a procedure should one be needed.

Back to the initial topic i think a few of the insurers have set agreements where they just pay out on their own boats to save legal costs on low value claims. Not sure how that effects the excess payment by the customer though.

I have recently moved to GJW insurance because they could cover me while sailing in Australia. Just had claim for new daggerboard and found them to be very professional and dealt with my claim very quickly. This means I should be able to sail the following weekend from breakage. EXCELLENT SERVICE
