Don't know, but boat looks good in the video. It's reasonably breezy and just shows that the boat is very stable through the gybe and no laser gunwale grab issues.

Not really sure what it shows Simon, it's. A nice video of someone reaching in a boat.  In lovely conditions.  He is obviously spoilt being able to sail in Carnac!  I hadn't realised that people had doubted the gybing ability of the aero??  I hadn't thought it would be an issue??  Other than its light weight it should be pretty easy shouldn't it??  One thing is for sure I bet he wouldn't be sailing without boots in the UK at the moment!  Still a very warm November but even so!!

Well, I liked it. Agree it didn't show anything outstanding (it is an unarigged singlehander, no foils, no kite to pop, so pretty much any unarigged boat would have looked similar) but the attemped creation of problems is somewhat odd - I thought we liked vids of boats in wind and sunshine on here.

Are there any good videos of the Aero sailing close hauled? All the ones I've seen so far are of boats reaching. To me the high boom looks odd. Does it still look so high when going to windward?

Exactly Rupert, Thats what i found odd.  Not sure why the gybing was mentioned?  It is just a Unarig single hander.  I thought I had missed part of a thread where someone had slated the aero's gybing ability for a moment....I hadnt and as i suspected it would not be a problem.  Not like it has a kite to pop as you say!

I think it was just enthusiasm - rare round here currently, and to be encouraged, not shat upon...

Never has been an 'issue' gybing , but some boats get unstable through a gybe and this doesn't. Its a nice new video, whats not to like?

Upwind video for Vronny:-

I'm looking forward to seeing them do battle at the big winter events, but there are none entered yet for Datchet.  I do like a nice video, but I also like to see a boat on the water 'in the flesh' so to speak.  I agree withVroony about the boom height, but when you have knees like mine that could be an advantage.
the same, but different...

Nessa, i cant see there being many Zero's at Datchet.  I wont be travelling.  2 day event that close to London means i have to spend a night in a grotty travel lodge or similar at not to an insignificant cost.  No thanks i will save my brownie points for other events.  if it was a 1 day event i would 100% be there
