Thanks BNS - I was wondering whether I had the courage to admit to being sad enough to concentrate hard enough to notice that. Some might say it's out of character....maybe old age is catching up with me

Errrrrrrrrmmmm a real question that requires a real answer.......

BUT fortunately I buy the Telegraph every day (to do the crossword) and when I get a bit stuck, which is usually at 1 across, I read it. AND it mentioned Neo Snobs.

A Neo snob is a new snob.  As in you weren't a snob before, just a good old fashioned salt of the earth, working class bloke, UNTIL you met a Chav, who also likes to think of himself as a salt of the earth working class bloke etc. Now it is obvious that you are far superior to this scum so therefore you look down on him and his actions, your not really a proper old fashioned snob but a NEO SNOB.

Pierre, best not to mention the neo snob thing at your interview, it won't help.  Remember after the interview go for a refreshing and rewarding pint or eight.  I can highly recommend The Griffin, just at the end of the Grays Inn Road / Clerkenwell Road.

Good advice from TT.  I only go to work for the money. Last time I ran an ad for a couple of chippies I had all the old B*&%$£"!ers asking what type of work was it (carpentry work you muppets hence Carpenters Wanted) and was it a clean site? The first one who asked what the money was got the start.

Anyone who doesn't needs their head checking!!!!

Another good formula is to work out before going into a job interview:

take the cost of an average property near your sailing club
add in the cost of sensible tow-worthy car
add the cost of the boat of your dreams (the realistic dream)
add about 15% to account for interest rates and consilidation debts
divide by 25 years then divide by 12 months
add £500 beer allowance- and there's your basic cost of living for a typical sailor.

You may also need the following optional extras:

food
women
music
winter sports vacations

All the above come at variable rates depending on whether you plan to live in Kent or Essex.

Genius. but £500 a month on beer seems a little excessive

I might be sailing it, but it's still sh**e!
