I stand corrected, good to see Mr Cumbley will be dusting the covers off!  Maxi we will let you out for a blast at the Exmoor Beastie, we have a few Phantom sailors that want to 'Give it a go' (best make sure the wings are on the inner setting with you lot)

86kg and below outer settings 86.1kg and above inner (I believe) Which i think works well, the systems with righting moment used by the 700 and 800 seem to work well for them, but i guess the idea is to keep things simple and adding corrector weights to the hull of a boat to make up for light crew weight seems a bit last centuary...but i guess it has worked for them for this long so!?

I do however like the fact that wing positions are adjustable as it means my mate who is allot lighter then me can manage a very powerfull boat both up and downwind (i think he is 76kg) vs my 95kg (same hight)  the difference in speed between us is directly linked to our ability (or lack of in my case)

**EDIT: Alex, when are we going to get you in one?? You doing Abersoch Dinghy week this year?  hopefully there will be a few of us D-ones there.

I didn't realise there was only two settings, I assumed there would be a few.

Abersoch a no goer for me now, after moving jobs our year end is July!! So no chance.
I'll have to steal a ride sometime, it was a choice when I bought the 100 but when I weighed up the pros&cons it just pipped it

Rodney, thanks but that was very much tongue in cheek, I'm hoping to fail dismally in my phantom this weekend.

Russ, yes I do want to take you up on your offer. Will you he there on sat as well, otherwise might be a struggle to get out before the Beastie on sun, but if not will have a go then if you don't mind.

I thought the lightweights setting required a large lump of lead in the boat too?

“I'd like to keep sailing the classes I love well and, as always, am loving the challenge of getting into some new classes. I'm really enjoying getting into the Merlin and will hopefully be back in the Finn for the Masters and I'd love to get a D-One.”

Quote from recent interview with Nick Craig, if that is not reason enough to buy a D-one??
