Allup weights ( that I know )
moth - 30kg
IC - 55kg
cherub 70kg ( mine was 58kg exc lead correctors.)

edit :
58kg originally with the old rig.
Modern Cherubs still carry 6kg or so  correctors, with a bigger rig.

Traditionally the stripped weight without spars and so on was what one design classes were weighed in at, so I guess it was the sort of figure most folk were used to seeing.

Agreed; not the weight of a bare hull before fitout ...or addition of grab rails, toestraps etc ...

Most classes sensibly include control lines in there hull weight too ..

So a laminate cloth doesn't work on windsurf style rigs?    I better go tell all my windsurf buddies to fire up the dacron again...

(the mast is coming from, I think, reglass in Italy - the MaverX windsurf masts are exceptional btw)

Very strange - I must take my laminate sails back and p/ex for some Dacron ones to work on the Merlin!!

Weird statement for RS to make - I believed (obviously mistakenly) that whether they worked or not depended on the skill of the sailmaker??

Also with the weight obsession on this RS, they do not mention that Dacron is heavier!!!!

Pretty sure the rig on the Finn costs rather more than the whole price of the Aero, so maybe not the best comparison.  However, the Lightning uses both. Mind, I've just bought a Dacron sail to replace the Mylar one. I think they are easier to read, especially at low wind strengths, and they have a longer life span, even if they do start to lose shape faster to begin with.

Finn mast is massively stiff remember. I believe the aero is very flexible. Oh and the RS 300 is dacron... for about 10 inches back from the luff- its there to give stretch.
