Spoil-sport.  Was hoping for a reply saying there was no-way a woman could cope !

I could then point at the ISAF rankings (she's currently 20th)

Is that Bmax supposed to mean maximum beam or am i just bein stupid and it means something totally different? Because If you are sure that number is right, that would mean you've got slightly more sail area than the 800 but Less leverage than the 29er.......that being the case then im not so sure your gonna be having 2 lightweight ladies holding it down that well.

2 lightweight ladies could never hold that down, also they wouldn't be able to get far enough back to stop the bow going down with the kite up in a breeze.

Dyslexia strikes once every 27 seconds!

the real Bmax ( maximum beam) is 1820mm

BWL (waterline beam) is in the order of 710mm

Rig is pretty soft and the sails generally flat given the belief that big flat sails go faster than small full sails.  Boat has been sailed happily in force 5 with 125 kg aboard with very little drama.

Of course, if  we got rid of the gender discrimination (classes are either women's or open) then there could be a wider spred of boats with narrower weight bands. In this way the bantamweight men could compete against similarily sized women and the bigger girls could hire a big male crew and experience the best fleet racing in the world - as there is no serious competitor to the Star as an Olympic heavyweight class boat!

Why not introduce a rule, as in team racing, that a country represented in all classes must have a minimum number of women in their team.
