Burghfield has had an almost weed free year .... could have been the winter floods but the club did 'bomb' the lake a few months back with a blue dye that was intended to disrupt weed photosynthesis. Not a cheap answer in some respects but previously a lot of money was spend on cutting the bloody stuff anyway and that was only a partial solution. Whatever the reason - we have not had any real problem this year.
Back to the photos .... the Halo2 sail took a hell of a long time to get 100% but it is very straightford, 'easy' to read and set-up and goes very nicely indeed. We could have released it earlier but you don't get to test in all conditons and with a wide variety of crews if you are under too much 'release' pressure. It is not really faster than the original Halo sail but it is a hell of a lot more practical in using the regular mast.... you just reduce the standard mast rake which takes a couple of minutes and away you go .... |

So a Blaze can become a Halo simply by buying the Halo sail, everything else is the same?
Like a D One but without the kite? In other words great for the pond and the D One can stay at Grafham which is it's natural habitat. That sail looks really good.

Mike, if you renamed Fire, Blaze and Halo as Blaze 8.9, Blaze 10.4 and Blaze 11.5 respectively, some of your customers could get away with rig switching on a single entry in a series, just like Laser and RS Aero sailors
Actually, your sailors would be on better moral ground than their Laser or RS brethren, in that you don't require the mast to be changed, just the sails...

You can get a bit more idea of the Halo2 design from this one. The top was intended and does 'blade off' when needed - apply a bit more cunningham etc. There is little/no tendancy however to 'hook' in the light stuff as in the pics....

That is a good looking sail and what (I think) is a nice looking boat.
At least the farmer is not dancing but sailing.... An Nessa, you would like the Blaze, lots of room under the boom, comfy to hike and very quick once it gets going. You probably wouldn't want a Halo rig (going by my experience with the boat).
