Hmmm, looks like the foredeck is still there, and from what I can see the mast is still there and also has rig tension on.

Question is though, where's the mainsail???

part of the foredeck was most definitely "removed", the boat very nearly sank

top part of the mast snapped (above top set of hounds)

there was a bit of a pile up involving three boats, the blue one came off worst

whatever

The B14 shrouds are already fairly tight even before the mast is pulled forward and rig tension applied so the foredeck could be snapped.

Mainsail missing is a tad odd like

mainsail was deliberately removed to prevent more damage to it and the mast - you don't really want a big fully battened sail powering up when you already have a broken and unsupported mast
whatever

It is a polyester hull.  More than strong enough to hold rig tension and go quick but not strong enough to withstand a boat piling into it at nearly 20 knots in the wrong place (and carbon or epoxy would have reacted just the same).

Barnsie was a hero of the operation, as he dropped his crew off to help and single handed the B14 around in 20 knots breeze until it was sorted.  Also missed a race as a result - top form.

Real shame as the boat was easily the most sorted and perfect boat in the fleet.  Knowing the owner it'll be perfect again next time I see it.
