I've been told on this very forum that the mast being forwards doesn't cause nosedives.
However, as a Lightning sailor, I didn't believe them. |

Mast forward can help drive the boat through waves better upwind. Volume and hull shape are more important. Finn and D-One are well forward and certainly aren't meant to be nosey in upwind mode anyway.
The prototypes I sailed didn't appear to be nosy, although wind was only 14-15knots at best and some waves. Would be surprised if either of these boats is going to be full of vices! |
