So James, do they come with any suggested rig settings
(E.g. initial spreader lengths, shroud pin settings) or is
it fully trial and error which I will soon be joining you
in?
I'm sure mine will be slightly different anyway as I'll
have the smaller rig.

And soon to be RS100 Owner..

BIrthday boy tomorrow any good news on the horizon?

Happy Birthday GRF! I reckon your 100 is just rounding the Cape of Good Hope this morning. Alex is handling the weather routeing and given favourable conditions in the Atlantic (and then time for us to wash off the salt, put a new sail with it, etc) it is on schedule to be ready for you in mid April. Hang in there a little longer please...

Hi Phil,

I just took delivery last Saturday and have been putting it all together for my first sail coming up this weekend. I would say the user manual is perfect for getting everything set up to a standard level that can then be tweaked in time. The instructions are much easier to follow than Ikea furniture!

I am going to start with gate in middle and pins on about 3 down on the caps and then take it from there. The attention to detail on everything is superb. The thing I had not totally appretiated is the spreaders fixing to the mast allowing some level of rotation. Neat design.

Cheers,

Keith.

That sounds very reassuring.  Roughly how much is there to do to get it ready for a first sail ? Is it an hour or a days fiddling?

Probably an hour so I suppose.

Its just taken me longer as I keep admiring the nice shiney carbon foredeck.....

The main thing that needs done is just the mast in terms of fitting spreaders, shrouds and halyards. Then its just put the boom and mainsheet on and then that pretty much it. The just stick the sail numbers on.

As I say all very clearly documented in the owner handbook.

Cheers,

Keith.

Like Mike's graphics.

Also looks like the 100 faired well in its first outing there.

Well after I heard they'd voted you in as chairperson in your absence, I felt it
was the least I could do.
