Found the SI's and they say  this...
"a) The race will be governed by the Rules as defined in the Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS) 2009-2012"

Not sure when all of those pictures were taken, there was a lot of photography going on before during and after racing, but the Olympic bods had their own equipment with them in a rib so maybe did a bit of changing in between races.

As far as I remember everyone was wearing them.

On Saturday the 26th and Sunday the 27th March, in conjunction with the D-One class training week-end, there will be an opportunity to test sail a D-One at Queen Mary Sailing Club.  Come along at any time from 11.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m., everyone welcome. Smile

On Saturday the 26th only, there will also be an opportunity to test sail a Finn and a K1.  Why not come along and sail all three!

Well the training weekend went well.
Here's some footage of me slipping on the first gybe with the kite up!

Looks like you need a spi halyard trip line led to the gunwhale. Pull string whilst standing on plate, lifts s/s curtain ring on aft side of twinlock to flick cleat open, pressure goes out of kite and up she comes easy as pie.

Bonus is that you are not faffing in boat, so inversion far less likely, although if I invert at FPSC in 2m of water something else has gone badly wrong!

nope I have made my spinny halyard way too long when I changed to thicker rope. I reckon I can get rid of a metre at least, just never got round to it.
I keep meaning to strip it to inner core only at kite level, but have never done it before so keep putting it off.
I keep watching the Rooster video to learn how.

I just rigged one of these trip lines, but haven't had to use it an anger yet.  Do you have any pics Clive?

It reminds me of the scene in "Butterflies" when Wendy Craig was trying to follow the recipe for trifle on telly, upturning the jelly mould and pouring it all over the table.....I just know I would get in a right tangle with all the "fidding"
