I think so, but not certain.  It is a few years old now.

The crew is certainly saying something to the helm, probably unrepeatable in civilised company.  Or

"do you have Noble Marine's number?"

i saw this happen, it was at abersoch bout 3 yrs ago. as the 400's went round the mark, about 2/3s of the front end of the fleet lost their masts in one gust....we were in the fireball fleet, at there wasnt any damage what so ever

I can imagine the conversation between the class members and LDC

Members: We said we wanted better gust response.....
LDC:  Yes and the rigs responded!
Members:  But they'll never "respond" again!
LDC:  Its just want want want with you people!!

I was there that day sailing a 800, it was Fing windy. The dogs were in a different county let alone off chains. I seem to remember the club house recorded 44 knots.

It's John Jones & June Riley from our club PDSC!  Apperently they were allready running at that point and a hugh gust hit and the mast went over the top!  We think the blame lies with John for not keeping enough mainsheet tension and supporting the mast.

Knowing June she would of carried on :-)

He has a has a few shots of the whole thing happening in his house & that picture is up in the club next to the silk cut (i think) bow going under
