However the D-One is not a design failure!

You are allowed to have a personal preference, which you have described.

Perhaps derogatory was the wrong word to use.

2) first successfull use of a square top jib with adjustable upper outhaul.
3) first US bi-foiler(and maybe world) with retractable hydrofoils(way before RS600FF).
4) first US bi-foiler with manual altitude control.
5) first bi-foiler anywhere with manual altitude control of the main foil flap.
6) first bi-foiler with adjustable angle of incidence main and rudder foils WHILE SAILING.
7) hull and foils designed for JUMPING the boat intentionally with reliable safe re-entry.
8) first bi-foiler in US to experiment with partial span flap equipped foils.

Same rig and foils to be used experimentally on new Trapwing Prototype. Same HULL being used to build prototype as well with the mods in the pix below.
