Oh, Rick is just bitter as he didn't get picked to represent the Mustos ...

Edit - Where are the representatives for the Oppies, Squibs, XOD's?!! If all the top 30 classes said yes, the Musto's wouldn't even have got an invite ...

This is ment to be the cream of UK dinghy sailing meeing for a show down; all the big guns from the big classes doing battle for a prestigious trophy won in the past by the best sailors in the UK.

The big classes should be invited not the noddy ones ... start at the top of the nats attendance table and work your way down.

If they have 30 slots I doubt the people in 109th would ever get a sniff.

How do the choose who gets invited for those 30 slots?

It's simple; invite all the champions with a 14 day deadline; then pick the top 30 from those who enter a team 15 days later. based on the table.

This event really revived itself with the help of Topper; now lets get the invitations sorted.

Laser EPS  109th in the Nationals Attendance table ... how could that be ahead of the Int. Moth?

Bit of a shame if the Moth Nat Champ didn't get an invite; it may be that the class association got it and didn't pass it on to you Mike ...

The numbers of boats are limited; to my mind they ought to start at the top of the nationals attendance table & work their way down ....

got to be nick as rick will say they are quite a hard boat to set up plus being the right weight is a plus i think when i went we was one of the large weights with 26 stone in the boat so struggled around.

My money is on charlie cumbley for this one. Assuming he can do double
handed sailing

Especially if it's breezy!

I don't mean to be rude, however, pico sailors?? Really?!

They are all bloody good sailors. Far too hard to call imo.

Best of luck to all

Absolutely...... this is the sort of event that has plenty of hype possibilities and you would have thought have been the sort of thing the telly loves....champion of champions and all that, same boats, relatively cheap coverage, "Royal", history etc etc. Do that and in come the sponsors....and up goes the prestige

Come on big it up - it's a potential goldmine!

Those that I know that have done it say it is great.

Can someone clear up something for me if the champ can't do it, can the class nominate a substitute or is it champ or nowt or then 2nd etc? I ask noticing no N12 sailor after one of the most successful Nationals for years.

Nick Craig nailed on IMHO.

Like some other things - sailing is more enjoyable when you do it with someone else
