My top tips for trapezing - in that they are easy to not realise for yourself, but are very valuable - are:

1. Lean your hips forward slightly - it reduces the forward pull of the wire.

2. Getting out is harder the slower you do it. Have confidence and spring out - don't be timid, it just makes it more awkward.

One more I forgot:

3. Learn to trust the wire. New trapezers often cling to the handle like their life depends on it, but really you just get tired. Let go, let the wire take your weight - then you'll get the feel of things and find it easier to stay balanced.

These all worked on my crew: he'd never trapezed (or sailed....) before last year, but now he's really settled into it.

If he gets wet he gets wet like I said, wouldn't give up boat speed for keeping him dry! . Say its only fair since you probably will be getting soaked anyway..

However if you can without too much trouble, keep your hand on the adjuster so you don't have to find it to lower yourself, sometimes in a gust if you see it coming and can react quick enough instead of letting the main out you can drop yourself down quickly. Should be quite easy to hold onto it somewhere on it, just so you can react quickly!

Not really, as windsurfing your usually quite straight.

But you don't really need it, you will be fine without so don't worry!

Its quite wierd when flat on the wire, maybe more so when helming on the wire as I have found, bit of a wierd perspective, but I didn't really notice it crewing, although it might be a bit wierd at first, I can't remember really, it was quite a while ago when i first started trapezing.
