Interesting. It's part topper, part Int canoe!

The crucial question is whether you tack with the extension going round the back currently.

If the answer is no, then the solution would surely be a laser / RS200 set up.

If the answer is yes, then off boom sheeting led to aft bridle, aft sheeting, or some under deck/ along boom, down mast then up to turret solution would be best.

Twin tillers wouldn't be great just with the shape of those racks.

I don't think the gross/fine solution I suggested above would be very practical, plus it would put a huge load on that boom.

I still think the off the boom is best on a unarig single-hander but I do like having a cleat on the Spice (so I can help with the kite) so I still have a centre main but with 57mm blocks to reduce friction. I have experimented with an off the boom system with improvised twin extensions on the Spice too and a coarse/fine with 4:1 and a 2:1 fine but never got to sail with the latter. I may revisit this one though as it seems to offer the best of both worlds with 8:1 off the boom upwind when I need the leech tension and 4:1 offwind but retaining the cleat for kite handling.

Yeah, off boom is a nice solution.
It does take a little getting used to, passing the tiller extension under the sheet pre-tack or gybe and generally sailing that way so you're set up ready to go at any time can feel strange. Also, the point you're sheeting from moves around which can feel different. Plus it can make hand eye co-ordination a little harder. And personally I wouldn't ever want a cleat, but for those who do, then getting one on the boom can be tricky.

But it frees up a tonne of cockpit space and the direct feel of sheeting from the boom means you can very direction of the tension you're putting in to the sail which is very nice in light winds.

And it uses the minimum number of blocks to get the job done so minimum friction.

I was happy with it immediately the first time I sailed with it but it was only my second sail in the Blaze, getting used to it on an already familiar boat might take longer.

BTW, how does the MiniSprint sail area compare to a Laser? Nobles database says it's 7.4m2 which would be bigger than a Laser but it may be measured differently (isn't the Laser more like 7.8m as we'd normally measure a sail?).

Sprint sail is battened so larger area than standard.

The original sail was nominally 16'x10', as a triangle, so 80 sq feet. In reality, it was a couple of inches short on both lengths, and concave on the leech, so I expect about 75 sq feet. That is about 7m2. The battened sail is bigger. Ian Morgan may know how big the new Max sail is. Similar to a Laser, I expect, but lower aspect.

Ah right, had a look on the CA website and the 'max' battened sail is 8.2m2. I'd go for either a Laser style setup or, maybe (I know you've already tried it), give off the boom another go. OTB will give you the most efficient system with lowest friction and with an 8.2m sail I think you'll need the 2:1 (plus a bit) purchase to get reasonable sheet loads. The one extra block in a Laser system will add a bit of extra friction for no mechanical advantage but does allow for cleats.

Have fun, I'm going to spend a day fiddling with my Spice mainsheet in the spring, I might even but an extra tiller extension to try OTB again as with all the trap wires and the length of the damn thing a single extension ain't going to work with an aft mainsheet.

My original intention with 4to1 centre main was to minimise clutter at back of boat, wanted to have a long sleek after section.
I have finally given up with the heavy workout in strong wind  LOL

Quick question to Blaze sailors and others using off boom sheeting, please

How do you create leech tension without pulling the main towards the Centreline? When I've tried it, I've had to rely on kicker, which in slightly puffy weather means a slower response to the wind filling in slightly.
