Prolly....

As for T_A's description.  Good plan....

Having stuffed both bows in while getting my kite down (standing up) I now sit down when it's windy - Mast's hurt when they bite you....

i have a question about the tornado. i´ve been to the volvo champions race yesterday and looked at the tornados. and i was guessing for what this little rope is, which was tied to the block of the main rope and was leading along the boom. hope that description is acceptable!

Crew comes in and the skipper gets out on wire.  Crew drops boards if any are up, sheets in jib, adjust mast rotation, takes up slack in the retrievel line and at the last minute cracks kite halyard whilst retrieving.  All this time the kite is sheeted in.  The crew will stand on the kite sheet before cracking the halyard and will get of it when he starts retrieving. The skipper out on the wire continues to run a 'hot' angle with a hull in the air.  The round up should be timed so as about 1/4 of the kite is in the snuffer.  As you turn upwind the crew walks with retrievel line in hand to the side of the boat and clips into the trap rind whilst pulling the rest of the kite in.  As he swings out on the wire, he grabs the down haul which the tail is sucked into the front beam by bungy like the jib sheet, and adjusts the downhaul before getting into possition to take the mainsheet from the skipper.

This is the ideal kite drop and one which you strive for every time.  Gets really interesting in heavy traffic.

The skipper replaces the crew on the wire right up the back.  If it is blowing the numbers of the sail, you can run a bit lower and not quite as 'hot' to keep the bow out.  Manouvers like this in big wind can make you look like a hero or a zero.....  Crew also gets quiet upset if you stuff a bow whilst he is standing up retreiving.  Crew normaly ends up between the bows.

It's a tad exciting, just ask any of my crews   Depending on how hot you come in you may only be single wiring in which case (well we did) crew comes ina in and sorts the kite out (poss with helm assisting) or helm goes out as crew comes in.

Try doing it single handed
