RSGames video. Hopefully we'll get to see more of the drone footage, as they seemed to get quite a bit!

Do you use some sort of tiller pilot when you go forward? Thanks

if you're referencing the video with the cadets standing on the bow, what we used to do was get the traveller tail and wrap it around the tiller to hold it in the middle then tie the mainsheet off or hold onto it

Not to be done without adequate safety cover though, I've done this and become separated from the boat which stayed up right and sailed off into the distance. This was on the sea but luckily it was a calm day, luckily it only took a few minutes for the safety boat to realise nobody was on board a topper that was heading off to France

Hi Bruce.
Yes we have a fitted B&G below decks system that is excellent. Most of the time upwind its not needed but as soon as you put the kite up and have to spend time either forward, or with your hands full, its a great help.

Thanks for the info, I wondered how you did it without your weight changing the boat's direction! I've tried the shock-cord-round-the-tiller method on my Limbo which works to a degree but as the boat is quite light anyway it means I'm limited to quick dashes forward and certainly not enough time to get a spinnaker up.

In the past past ive had good success with a rope tied from one side of the cockpit, wrapped around the tiller once then tied off on the other side. This is easy to put on and off, holds the tiller firmly when required yet not so firmly that you can't make it move should you need to. You cant beat a descent auto helm though it does make single handed sailing much less stressful
